(Yeah, the Leather icon's become the unofficial Banter Latte icon. No shock. :) )
It comes as no real shock that the stuff behind a protection wall -- even with a password that's readily and freely available -- is less popular than the stuff anyone can read, trivially. Still, I'm a little surprised at the depths of it. At this point, the Interviewing Leather post from Tuesday -- three days ago -- has four times the readers than the Theftworld post from last week did, despite four days extra for it.
Today's new chapter of Theftworld is being outstripped by both Leather and -- at a significant surprise -- The Old Ways, which I figured was a bit too baroque to gather much readership at all.
I'm not going to unlock Theftworld -- not with hopes of publication and weirdnesses of publishers -- but now I'm wondering if the locked novel should be a thursday post instead of a Friday post, and put something that gets more of a regular or solid readership then. Or maybe move the novel chapter to Tuesdays and the Serial to Fridays, giving Leather and her subsequent brethren the weekend-out spot.
Or am I overthinking all this?
